Capt. Mike is a 3rd generation
Floridian who has been fishing the west coast of
Florida since he was old enough to hold a fishing
pole. Fishing Tampa Bay through Charlotte Harbor,
Capt. Mike already had private Snook, Trout, and
Redfish spots by age 12 throughout this region.
His passion for Shark fishing started around age
16; after a rather large Bull Shark ate a Redfish
he was pulling in. To this day, Sharks remain one
of Capt. Mikes favorite target species.
Capt. Mike has been a medical professional since
1989, which has allowed him to meet other professionals
who shared in his passion for fishing. Some of his
first colleagues were avid Tarpon fishermen who,
in exchange for Shark and backcountry teachings,
taught him the fine art of catching the majestic
Silver King. Catching a Tarpon in Boca Grand Pass,
on the Beach or in the back country, is a memory
no fisherman will ever forget.
Capt. Mike fishes World Famous Boca Grand Pass
(known as The Tarpon Capitol of the World), as well
as the pristine waters of Charlotte Harbor and the
Myakka River, including Lemon Bay, Turtle Bay, Bull
Bay, Gasparilla Sound and El Jobean.
Target species are Tarpon, Sharks, Snook, Trout
and Redfish; but on any given trip, there are dozens
of other fish that may be caught. While fishing
from a 22 ft. tournament rigged Pro-lite flats / bay boat, you
will be catching these fish in comfort.
A day with Capt. Mike is a day you will not soon
forget. He always promises to do everything in his
power to make your trip a trip of a life time. And
remember, there’s no extra charge for his stories.
